"Yesterday, We Had Tomorrow"

Yesterday, we had tomorrow,
But today, we have neither,
Seems all time was borrowed,
For on life's brink, we teeter,

We built houses of sand,
Instead of houses of clay,
We hastened our end,
We lessened each day,

On a flight called 'Omnipotence',
Destination unknown,
Via plights of ill significance,
We've sung our last song,

So, save all tears of sorrow,
Much too late for a breather,
For yesterday, we had tomorrow,
But today, we have neither
